One of our priorities at Lake City Community Church is that everyone who walks through our doors feels right at home right away! That can only happen when committed volunteers have the same priority. We have created First Impressions Teams to accomplish just that! We offer flexible scheduling and a fun environment where volunteers can build Christ-centered relationships, support each other through prayer and discipleship, all while partnering with God to advance His Kingdom by serving our guests.
Take a look below to see descriptions of the areas in which you might serve:
These volunteers strive to make each guest feel like our honored guest. With a friendly smile and a warm hello guests feel welcome the moment they walk through the doors.
Host Team members know where everything is on the campus and are prepared to walk people to their requested destination. You also understand Lake City’s core values and statement of faith.
This team of volunteers assists our guests in navigating the waters of Lake City by providing them direction and additional information on the services and programs we offer.
Ushers make people feel like an honored member of the family by taking care of all the physical logistics of our weekend gatherings. They serve by seating individuals, receiving offerings, serving communion, assisting parents with infants, and handling general needs.
Parking Lot Attendants are the first impression people have of Lake City. They direct drivers to help them safely navigate their way through our campus during the weekend and for special events.
Occasionally attendees need help getting from their car to our front door. This team would be available in the parking lot prior to each service assisting those in need of a ride, handing out umbrellas, and being a friendly greeter. Adults only.
This team prepares and serves meals and/or refreshments for a variety of special events.
Complimentary coffee and tea are always available during each gathering. This ministry makes Lake City feel like home to many of our guests and is considered a priority. It’s the “little” things that mean a lot!
Some of us love to clean and others love to work outdoors to add to the beauty of well maintained grounds. If this describes you, join the Building & Grounds Maintenance Team. This may involve regular maintenance, seasonal snow removal or occasional projects.
If you enjoy greeting the public, answering phones and light clerical work, join the receptionist team and work alongside Lake City staff. Shifts are once a week, for 3-4 hours.
Join this team and assist in providing a safe, secure and welcoming church atmosphere for all guests. Shifts are once or twice a month for 90 minutes.
Typically communion is held the first full weekend each month. We have a team who fills the communion trays, teams who refill the trays after each gathering and a team who cleans up and washes all the trays after the last gathering. Time commitment is ½ hour – 1 hour.
This is the “bulletin” that is passed out during weekend gatherings. Many times we have inserts that go in the program. Time commitment is 1 hour.
These volunteers will serve at the Serve Central Lobby table 10 minutes prior to and 15 minutes after a gathering. They will assist guests with resources to help them take their next step in serving here at Lake City.
